When Roy Plunkett accidentally discovered the first fluoropolymer in 1938, later branded Teflon™, no one realized the impact it would have to many industries. Today, Teflon™ fluoropolymers are found in communications cables, automobile components, aerospace, and, of course, cookware and textiles.

Chemours is constantly looking for ways to innovate new uses for Teflon™ products. Currently, Teflon™ branded products are used in paints, fabrics, home furnishings, clothing, and more.
